O Glorious Martyr, Saint Expeditus, who was so much loved by the Queen of Heaven, that to you nothing was denied, ask her, please my advocate, that through the sufferings of her Divine Son and her own sorrows, I may receive this day the grace I ask of you; but above all the grace to die first before I commit any mortal sin. The Sign Of The Cross:

signofthecross

The Sign Of The Cross Instructions: Start with your hands clasped in front of you and with your right hand touch your fingers to your forehead and quietly say "In the name of the Father" then touch your fingers to your breast bone and say "and the Son" and then touch your fingers to your left shoulder and then right shoulder and say "and The Holy Spirit", then clasp your hands together again and say Amen.

Our Father (From the Original Aramaic)

This is a very beautiful version of the prayer we have been taught since we were little tykes. This is from the original Aramaic, The language Jesus and Saint Expedite spoke. As best as most people who study these things can tell, this version is probably the original prayer that Jesus said before it was translated into other languages.

Make the sign of the cross.

Our Father in heaven,
Holy is Thy name.
Your Kingdom is coming,
Your will is being done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us bread for our needs day by day.
Forgive us our offenses
as we have forgiven our offenders.
Do not let us enter into temptation.
Deliver us from error.
Sealed in trust, faith and truth.

Make the sign of the cross.

   Hail Mary (An Early Version)

This is an early version of the prayer
"Hail Mary". The first part of it is from the bible,
the rest was added a millennium later.

Make the sign of the cross.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Make the sign of the cross.

Novena to St. Expeditus

Saint Expeditus suffered a lot during the time of Diocletion. He is holding a cross in which is inscribed "Hodie" (Today) while he is stepping on a crow which is crying "Cras" (Tomorrow) in order to remind us not to doubt even for a single moment the great mercy of God, and not to postpone for tomorrow the devout and trusting prayer but to call on him always as our advocate by the side of our Blessed Virgin.

Act of Contrition
My LORD Jesus Christ, Father of endless charity, I am heartily sorry for my sins. Grant me, therefore, pardon of my sins and the grace I ask of You thru the merits of the sorrows of Your loving Mother and the virtues of Your martyr, Saint Expeditus.

O Glorious Martyr, Saint Expeditus, through the lively faith which was granted you by God, I ask you to awaken the same faith in my heart, that I may also believe wholeheartedly that there is God, but most particularly that I may be saved from sinning against Him.

Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, and sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my words but graciously hear and grant my prayer. Amen.

Tips: Do's

Do Have Faith, have vigorous faith because your prayers will be answered. Pray fervently and with lively enthusiasm and God will grant your favor.

Do pray from the heart, be sincere in your prayers and your praise. Insincerity is obvious and it can disrupt any attempt to make your life go smoothly.

Do keep your promises, honesty is very important to Sanctus Expeditus. Truth and Honor above all. Not providing your offering, even once could jeopardize all subsequent prayers and blessings.

Do  your best to support honest websites that try to educate the public about this powerful Saint and his strong Christian ethic. That is important, Christian ideals are worthy of imitation.

Tips: Don'ts

Don't ask for harm to any person or animal, It is very easy for things to backfire and come back to you.

Don't pray for too many things at one time, usually it is best to ask for just one thing per prayer session. It is even better if you wait for your petition to be completed before you go on to the next item on your list.

Don't be lazy. Sitting at home waiting for the doorbell to ring with all the answers to your problems puts a severe limit on the good things that will happen in your life.

Don't ask for another petition while thanking the saint for a previously granted petition. That shows very poor manners. It becomes perfectly obvious that you are only thanking him to further your ambitions. A thank you must be from the heart. If it is  not sincere you will receive a half hearted effort. Your time is valuable to you but St Expedite's time is priceless.

Don't ask to win the lottery. It is pointless. Everyone who has ever played the lottery prays to their God that their ticket wins. It is human nature, but it is also impossible for everyone to win. It is better to just pray for luck, after all the most important thing in all gambling games is luck.

Thank You (An Example)

A "Thank You" should be from the heart and in your own words. I know that Sometimes you can be overwhelmed, and cannot find the right words so I have included this as an example.

Thank You Sanctus Expeditus. Thank you for everything you have accomplished in my behalf, today and yesterday and all the yesterdays of my life. Thank you for the numerous blessings you have bestowed on me, and the countless others that have sought and received your tireless help. You have produced miracles beyond my limited comprehension and I am truly grateful. I have witnessed the astonishing power of Sanctus Expeditus and I am awestruck. Thank you for this latest gift. ___________ (State the granted wish here).
I will make a public "Thank You" and give you an offering shortly. Amen.
